Huehuecoyotl

Peter Rozek / North American Souvenirs

Juan Villavicencio is a trickster. As of late he´s adopted the role of a modern day alchemist. However, instead of transmuting lackluster metals into gold, Juan turns clay dirt into all sorts of sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks. What takes millions of years to create, he can churn out in a few months. Relentlessly mischievous, Juan´s always ready to dress up his art work with sly accessories. He´s even known to throw wigs on a pot or two.
